Learn About Cool Down Mode

Code: W6-01

Extreme temperatures and other conditions may cause your Ring Video Doorbell or Security Cam to overheat. When this happens, you’ll see an error message in the Ring app that says: (Your Device) is in Cool Down Mode.

Tap here for tips on how to prevent your Ring devices from overheating.

Cool Down Mode and Level Lock hardware

If you’re a Level Lock owner and your compatible Ring Video Doorbell Pro 2 or Floodlight Cam Wired Pro enters Cool Down Mode, Amazon Sidewalk network may be turned off temporarily. As a result, your Level Lock may appear offline in the Ring app.

If your Level Lock does appear offline in the Ring app due to overheating, simply wait until your Ring device returns to a normal operating temperature to access and control your lock through the Ring app.

The lock itself remains fully operational during this time, and you can use the Level app to lock or unlock it if you're within Bluetooth range (about 30 feet).

If you need further assistance, we recommend contacting Level.
