What is the Ring Power Pack and how does it work?

Ring Power Packs are external backup batteries designed to provide extra power for Ring Alarm Pro and the eero 6 Extender. You can connect up to 4 Ring Power Packs to a Ring Alarm Pro. The Power Packs stack neatly under your device for easy storage.

Ring Power Packs are meant to be plugged into your Alarm Pro all the time. When the power goes out, Power Packs will keep your Alarm Pro on, and when the power returns, they will recharge themselves.

How many Ring Power Packs can you use?

You can link up to 4 Ring Power Packs to a single Ring Alarm Pro or eero 6 Extender, and you should get a full day of battery backup. Battery life varies depending on your specific usage and environmental factors. For example, Ring Power Packs may last longer if there is less video streaming and wifi usage.

Which products can be powered by a Ring Power Pack?

Power Packs are designed to provide extra power for Ring Alarm Pro and eero 6 Extenders.

Ring Power Packs can also support the 24/7 Backup* Internet feature, available with a Protect Pro subscription. Alarm Pro needs enough power to connect to the internet using cellular data, and if the power goes out, a Power Pack can provide that power to keep Alarm Pro on.

Can you use a Power Pack with any eero wifi extender?

Ring Power Packs are designed to work with eero 6 Extenders. You can use any eero wifi extender, but Power Packs only work with wifi 6 Extenders.

Can you use any other external battery for the Ring Alarm Pro?

No. Only Ring Power Packs can be used to provide external battery backup for your Ring Alarm Pro.
