Replacing your Ring Alarm Keypad (1st Gen)

Before you begin, make sure your Ring Alarm is disarmed.

Remove your Keypad (1st Generation)

  1. Unplug the Keypad.
  2. Find the Keypad you wish to remove in the Ring app
    • Tap
      menu (☰)
      .
    • Tap
      Devices
      .
      • You may see the Keypad listed, or you may need to tap
        Alarm Base Station
        , then tap the Keypad.
  3. Tap
    Device Settings
    .
  4. Tap
    Remove
    .
  5. Press and hold the number 1 key on the Keypad for 5 seconds. The app will let you know the device was removed.

If unsuccessful, follow these steps to remove your Keypad (1st Generation)

  1. Keep your Ring Keypad unplugged.
  2. In the Ring app, tap
    menu (☰)
    .
  3. Tap
    Set Up a Device
    .
  4. Tap
    Security Devices
    .
  5. Tap
    Keypads
    .
  6. Tap
    Keypad.
  7. Tap
    Device Settings
    .
  8. Tap
    Advanced Options.
  9. Tap
    Remove Failed
    .
  10. Tap
    Remove
    then tap
    OK
    .
  11. The app will let you know the device was removed.

Add your new Keypad (2nd Generation)

  1. In the Ring app, tap
    menu (☰)
    at the top left.
  2. Tap
    Set Up a Device
    .
  3. Tap
    Security Devices
    .
  4. Tap
    Keypads
    .
  5. Tap
    Keypad
    .
  6. Follow the in-app instructions to complete setup.
  7. Mount the new Keypad in the same spot as your original Keypad, or choose a convenient location so you can arm and disarm easily as you come and go. You can rest the Keypad on a flat surface or install it on a wall with the bracket and screws included.
