Lennar Homeowners with Hippo Insurance Eligible for Discounts with Ring

Lennar Communities Connected by Ring homes comes pre-installed with Ring Alarm security system and a Flo water shutoff. If you purchased home insurance from Hippo for your Lennar home, you may be eligible for a smart home policy discount.

To qualify for the Hippo smart home policy discount, you need to have a Ring Alarm set up in your Ring app, link your Hippo and Ring accounts, and grant consent for Hippo to receive information from Ring. If you enroll in Ring Alarm professional monitoring, additional policy discounts may be applied.

How to Link Your Ring Account to Your Hippo Insurance Account

To link your accounts:

  1. Log in to your
  2. Select the Smart Home tab in the portal
  3. Press the “link my account” button to log into your Ring account and tap “Authorize” for data sharing. By linking your account, you are consenting Hippo to receive the following information from Ring: device type list, device online connection status, professional monitoring enrollment status.
  4. You will see the status of your kit updated in your account within one day.

What data does Hippo request from your Ring account?

If you link your Ring account and Hippo insurance accounts, Hippo will request status updates from Ring periodically (up to once per day). These status updates will include professional monitoring enrollment status, device type list, and device online status for your eligible devices.

You can opt out at any time via Control Center in the Ring app by toggling off the account link to Hippo. Note: If you unlink your accounts, the smart home discount on your policy may be affected.

What happens if I cancel my insurance policy?

If you cancel your Hippo insurance policy that is linked to Ring, Hippo will stop requesting information from Ring about your account. Additionally, you can toggle off account linking with Hippo in the Ring Control Center.

What happens if I cancel my Ring Protect Plus subscription?

Ring Protect subscriptions do not require long-term commitments so you can cancel your subscription at any time. If you have linked your Hippo and Ring accounts to receive home insurance discounts and you cancel your Ring subscription, Hippo will receive this status update and your Smart Home policy discount may be affected.

What happens if I enroll or unenroll in Ring Alarm Professional Monitoring?

You can switch from Professional Monitoring to DIY/Self-Monitoring at any time in the Ring app. If you have linked your Hippo and Ring accounts to receive home insurance discounts and you enroll in Ring Alarm professional monitoring, additional policy discounts may be applied by Hippo. If you are receiving a professional monitoring discount on your Hippo policy and unenroll, your Smart Home policy discount may be affected.

How do I unlink my accounts and opt out?

The Control Center in the Ring app enables Ring users to see and manage their third-party linked services such as insurance carriers. You can unlink third-party services at any time in the Ring app’s Control Center.
