Getting Your Verification Code to Sign In

Have you accessed your Ring account in the past 30 days? You may be able to get your verification code from a previous device you've used to help sign in your new device.

Check text messages on other devices.

You may be receiving your verification codes as text messages to your previous phone or tablet, or your laptop may also be receiving texts.

Check to see if you are still signed in to Ring on your internet browsers, or another phone or tablet.

If it's still signed in to Ring, you'll see the dashboard icon on the menu and you'll be able to access your Ring account to help sign in your new device.

Using a previously signed in device to sign in a new device

If you were able to access your Ring account on a previous phone, tablet or laptop, follow these steps to get a verification code to help sign in a new device.

1. Open Ring on a device you last used

  • Ring app on another phone or tablet
  • Your account at Ring.com on your phone or tablet
  • Your account at Ring.com on a laptop or computer

2. Go to your Ring Control Center

On a phone or tablet:

  1. Tap the
    menu
    (☰).
  2. Scroll down and tap
    Control Center
    .
  3. Tap
    Account Verification
    .

On a laptop or computer:

  1. Click the
    Dashboard
    home icon.
  2. Click
    Account
    and select
    Control Center
    .
  3. Click
    Account Verification

3. Confirm your phone number is correct

Make sure we are texting your verification code to the right phone number.

From Account Verification in Control Center:

  1. Tap
    Update mobile number
    under the Text Message section.
  2. Enter your new (or updated) phone number. 
  3. You’ll be asked to re-enter your password for security purposes.
  4. On your new device, attempt to sign in again to Ring.
  5. Look for a verification code being sent to the updated number.

I use an Authenticator app to get my verification codes

Try something else: 

Generate a code in Control Center. 

From Account Verification in Control Center again, you can generate a verification code to help sign in your new device.

  1. Scroll down to the
    Generate a Verification Code
    section.
  2. Under Authorize a New Device, select
    Generate
    .
  3. You may be asked again to re-enter your password.
  4. On your new device, attempt to sign in to Ring again with the code you generated in Control Center.

Try an alternate method to verify your identity

This alternative option requires a valid government-issued ID. Once you've successfully signed in, please update your Account Verification method in Control Center.
