What do I do if the screen is blank?

  • Make sure that the power switch at your heating and cooling system is on.
  • Make sure the furnace door is closed securely.
  • If this thermostat will be used as a battery-powered thermostat only, check that there are fresh batteries.

What do I do if the screen is hard to read?

Honeywell recommends that you change the screen brightness on the thermostat menu. The maximum brightness is 5. These settings are only available if the thermostat is connected to AC power.

What do I do if the heating or cooling system does not respond?

  • Touch
    Mode
to set the system to Heat. Make sure the temperature is set higher than the indoor temperature.
  • Touch

  • Check circuit breaker and reset if necessary.
  • Make sure the power switch at the heating & cooling system is on.
  • Make sure the furnace door is closed securely.

What do I do if the temperature settings don’t change?

Your installer may have set a range stop setting for heat or cooling. Contact your installer to verify the range stop settings on the thermostat. The default range stops settings are:

  • Heat: 40 °F to 90 °F (4.5 °C to 32.0 °C)
  • Cool: 50 °F to 99 °F (10.0 °C to 37.0 °C)

What do I do if “Cool on” or “Heat on” are flashing?

It’s possible that the compressor protection feature is engaged. Wait 5 minutes for the system to restart safely, without damage to the compressor.
