Fixing ineligible cameras in Ring Edge

If you’ve received a message that your camera may be ineligible for enrollment in Ring Edge for one or more reasons, you’ll find the specific reason(s) that camera is not currently eligible on that page.

The steps to fix these issues are listed below:

Ineligible camera model
Most Ring cameras and video doorbells work with Ring Edge. However, the Always Home Cam does not work with Ring Edge, the Ring Video Doorbell (1st Generation), and discontinued versions of Ring Stick Up Cam. To find out what Ring product in the Ring App, use this link.

Camera is enrolled in End-to-End Encryption
If your camera is using Video End-to-End Encryption, this will cause some features, including Ring Edge, to become unavailable.

No Ring Protect plan
The Ring Edge feature is only active when subscribed to a Ring Protect plan.

Firmware update required
In order to use Ring Edge, your camera needs to be running the latest firmware version from Ring.

Update the firmware on your camera.
