Ring Video Doorbell (2nd Gen) Recall

On November 10, 2020, Ring determined that the battery for Video Doorbell (2nd Generation) can overheat when the incorrect screws are used for installation, posing fire and burn hazards. You do not need to return your device, as we have provided an updated user manual and option to receive security screw replacements.

If you've correctly installed your Video Doorbell (2nd Gen), there is no risk to you, your home or business. 

Determining if your Video Doorbell (2nd Gen) was impacted

Enter your 16-digit device serial number (DSN or S/N) in the field below. To find your serial number, remove your device off its mounting plate by following the instructions below:

  1. Use the star-shaped bit (T15 Torx) screwdriver that came with your device to remove your small security screw(s).
  2. Slide your Ring device up off of its mounting bracket and view the back of the device.
  3.  Locate the serial number on the back of the device.
