Adjusting the Video Recording Length on Battery Powered Devices
The Ring app gives you the power to control how long your Ring devices record events. By lowering or raising your video recording length, you can either record longer events to capture more detail, or record shorter events to preserve battery life.
Adjusting your Ring device's recording length
If your device supports adjustable video recording lengths, you'll find the setting in the Ring app:
- Open the Ring app and tap on theMenu(≡).
- TapDevices.
- Tap on the device you wish to adjust.
- TapDevice Settings.
- TapVideo Recording Length.
- TapMax Recording Length.
- When the list appears, you can select a preferred recording length such as:
- 15 seconds
- 20 seconds
- 25 seconds
- 30 seconds
- 60 seconds
- 90 seconds
- 120 seconds.
- You may get a warning that your choice will affect your battery life. Remember, you can always make a selection and change it to a shorter time if you feel your battery is draining too fast.
Please note that Motion Verification will affect your recording time. If you want to change your Motion Verification setting, you can go to Motion Settings then Motion Verification to toggle the feature on or off.
