To Receive Emergency Calls in Do Not Disturb Mode

Putting your mobile device in Do Not Disturb (DND) mode is useful when you need peace and quiet, but it will keep you from receiving Ring Alarm emergency calls immediately.

Save the Ring Alarm monitoring center as a contact (833-209-2159) on your mobile device and remember to override your device’s settings to receive Ring Alarm emergency calls right away, even if your phone is in Do Not Disturb mode.

For iOS devices, visit the Ring Monitoring center contact screen and toggle Emergency Bypass On (see screenshots below):

For Android devices, navigate to Settings > Sound & vibration > Do Not Disturb and tap People (Some people can interrupt). Tap “Calls” to choose who can interrupt in Do Not Disturb mode. If you choose “Starred Contacts,” remember to go to the Ring Monitoring contact screen on your mobile device and tap the star icon to ensure you receive emergency calls from Ring.

Note: If you have an Android device, your settings screen may vary. The images below show an example of settings for Samsung devices, but your Android device may be different. Consult your device manual or manufacturer’s website for specific instructions.

NOTE: Emergency calls are available for professionally monitored* Ring Alarm systems and will apply to numbers listed as emergency contacts.

* A compatible Ring Protect subscription is required to enroll in the Ring Alarm professional monitoring service. Professional monitoring service is available only within the U.S. (all 50 states, but not U.S. territories) and in Canada (excluding Quebec). Ring does not own its own professional monitoring center. Smoke and carbon monoxide monitoring is not available for commercial properties. See Ring alarm licenses at: http://ring.com/licenses. Additional permit or false alarm fees may apply depending on your local jurisdiction. Additional charges may apply in areas that require permits or guard response service for alarm verification.
