How to Customize Your Neighborhood Notifications

 

To customize your notifications and only see posts that are relevant to you. 

From the Neighbors App:

  1. Tap on ≡ on the top left of the app.
  2. Tap on Neighborhood Area.
  3. Drag the points on the map to create a custom shaped area or drag the slider to make your area larger or smaller.

From the Ring App:

  1. Tap on ≡ on the top left of the screen.
  2. Tap Neighbors.
  3. Tap the Settings gear icon on the top right of the screen.
  4. On the screen called Customize Neighbors tap Customize Neighborhood Area
  5. Drag the points on the map to create a custom shaped area or drag the slider to make your area larger or smaller.

How to Update Your Neighbors Email Notifications from the Ring App

  1. Tap on ≡ on the top left of the Ring App
  2. Tap Neighbors 
  3. Tap the gear icon on the upper right
  4. Tap Customize Neighbors
  5. Tap Email Notification Settings
  6. Select Notification Settings - Daily, Weekly or Off

I receive too many alerts. Can I customize which ones I want to receive?

Yes. You can customize the alerts that you receive in two ways.

Option 1: Adjusting the alert area – this changes the size of the area for which you will receive alerts. To adjust this:

  1.     Enter Settings.
  2.     Tap on Alert Area.
  3.     Drag the slider to make the alert area larger or smaller.

Option 2: Adjusting your alert preferences – this enables you to schedule when you will receive alerts and also customize which types of posts send push notifications. To adjust this:

  1.     Enter Settings.
  2.     Tap on Alert Preferences.

Here you can schedule or disable alerts/push notifications. Tapping on Alert Types allows you to select which types of posts send alerts/push notifications.
