Can I use Stick Up Cam, Wired inside?
Yes. The Stick Up Cam, Wired is an indoor/outdoor camera, so it can be mounted indoors.
Can I use my own micro-USB cable to extend the range of Stick Up Cam?
Yes, but only indoors. We recommend using the Power over Ethernet adapter if you need to move the Stick Up Cam, Wired further away. You do not need to connect the other end to your router, and can set up using wifi.
Is Stick Up Cam, Wired weatherproof?
Yes. Stick Up Cam, Wired is weather-resistant with an IP rating of IPX5. It was designed to work at temperatures ranging from -4 to 100 degrees Fahrenheit.
Does the Stick Up Cam, Wired use a proprietary PoE?
No. Any PoE connection that meets the IEEE 802.3af (PoE) and IEEE 802.3at (PoE+) standard will work.
Internet Requirements
What wifi networks are Stick Up Cam, Wired compatible with?
Stick Up Cam is compatible with b/g/n wifi networks operating on 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz frequencies.
What is the recommended Internet speed for Stick Up Cam, Wired?
Requires a minimum upload speed of 1Mbps, but 2Mbps is recommended for optimal performance.
Data usage and recording plans
Does Stick Up Cam, Wired use data all the time or just when it's activated?
Stick Up Cam, Wired will only use data when it’s activated by an event or when you access Live View via the Ring app. If Stick Up Cam, Wired doesn’t detect motion or isn’t activated with the app, it only uses minimal data.
Does Stick Up Cam, Wired keep footage for later review?
It can, however, this requires a subscription to Ring Protect Plan, an optional service that allows you to view, save, and share video.
