Joining Your Neighborhood

The Ring Neighbors app, can be used by anyone, regardless of whether you have a Ring device or not.

The Ring Always Home app, the one that you set up a device in, has the Ring Neighbors app incorporated into it. If you want to disable the Ring Neighbors app, in your Ring app, you can learn how to do that here. 

Can I be a member of more than one location?

For users of the Neighbors app, you can only be a member of one location at any given time.

For Ring app users, if you have devices set up in more than one location, you can be a member of each location that you have a device set up in.

Can I change the location of my location? 

If you do not have any Ring devices and are using the Neighbors app:

  1.     Enter settings in the Neighbors app.
  2.     Tap on Address.
  3.     Select a new address.

If you have Ring devices and use either the Ring app or the Neighbors app:

  1.     In the Ring app, open the side menu and tap on settings.
  2.     Tap on Change Address.
  3.     Enter a new address.

How do I tell my community about the Neighbors App?

Neighbors helps communities collaborate and work towards making neighborhoods safer. To invite members of your community, friends and family, you can do the following:

From the Neighbors App

  1.   Tap on ≡.
  2.   Tap on Invite Friends.
  3.   Tap “Send an invite.”
  4.   Select a messaging app* to share the Neighbors downlink.

* If the desired messaging app is not available in the list, go back to step 2, copy the link and paste it into a messaging app of your choice.

From the Ring app

  1.     Tap on ≡.
  2.     Tap on Invite Neighbors.
  3.     Tap “Send an invite.”
  4.     Select a messaging app* to share the Neighbors downlink.

* If the desired messaging app is not available in the list, go back to step 2, copy the link and paste it into a messaging app of your choice.
