Linking Ring Devices to Chime or Chime Pro (1st Generation)

Setting up a Chime or Chime Pro is a two part process:

  1. First, set up the Chime Pro in the Ring app.
  2. Then, connect a Ring device to the Chime Pro.

Before linking a Ring device to Chime or Chime Pro, you will need to plug in your Chime and set it up in the Ring app.

Once you've set up your Chime in the app, follow these steps to link it to your Ring device(s):

  1. Tap the menu (☰) on the top left of the Dashboard.
  2. Select Devices.
  3. Choose your Chime or Chime Pro.
    • Make sure the camera or doorbell you want is connected to the Chime or Chime Pro.
    • If not connected, select Chime Pro Network and connect your device.
  4. If your device is connected to the Chime or Chime Pro, tap Audio Settings.
  • You can adjust Chime Alerts, Chime Tones, and Chime Volume.
  • You can select different sounds for doorbell rings and Motion Alerts.
  • All of your devices can be set individually to have alerts set on or off.

Chime and Chime Pro are plug-in devices that provide audible alerts whenever motion is detected or a doorbell’s button is pressed.

The difference between the Chime and Chime Pro is that the Chime Pro is a wifi extender that provides audible alerts inside your home. 

How do I change Chime tones? 

  1. Tap the menu (☰) on the top left of the Dashboard.
  2. Select Devices.
  3. Choose your Chime or Chime Pro.
  4. Select Audio Settings.
  5. Tap Chime Alerts or Chime Tones.
    • Then, you can select tone ring alerts and/or Motion Alerts.

My Chime/Chime Pro still isn’t ringing.

Your Chime may have fallen offline. Make sure your device is connected via Device Health.
