How to Link your Ring Devices to a Chime or Chime Pro

The Chime and Chime Pro are plug-in devices that provide audible alerts whenever motion is detected or a doorbell’s button is pressed. The difference between the Chime and Chime Pro is that the Chime Pro is a wifi extender, in addition to providing audible alerts inside your home. 

Before you link a Ring device to a Chime or Chime Pro, set it up in your Ring app.  

Once the device has been set up, follow these steps to link it to your Ring device: 

  • Tap the three-lines on the top left of the Dashboard screen.
  • Select Devices.
  • Choose your Chime or Chime Pro.
    • Make sure the camera or doorbell you want is connected to the Chime or Chime Pro. 
    • If not connected select Chime Pro Network and connect your device.
  • If your device is connected to the Chime or Chime Pro tap Audio Settings.
    • You can adjust Chime Alerts, Chime Tones and Chime Volume.
    • You can select different sounds for doorbell rings and Motion Alerts. 
    • All of your devices can be set individual to have alerts set on or off.

How do I change the Chime tones? 

  • Tap the three-lines on the top left of the Dashboard screen.
  • Select Devices.
  • Choose your Chime or Chime Pro.
  • Select Audio Settings 
  • Tap Chime Alerts or Chime Tones
    • Then, you can select a tone ring alerts and/or Motion Alerts.

My Chime/Chime Pro still isn’t ringing, what do I do? 

The Chime may have fallen offline. Make sure your device is connected via the Device Health page.
