What is professional monitoring¹, and is that the same thing as Ring Protect? What if I already have the Ring Basic Plan? I need some help with understanding the differences.

Professional Monitoring1 is a service from Ring that monitors your home alarm and will help you request emergency responders when you need it most. In order to get professional monitoring for your home, you need a subscription to a Ring Protect Plan. The plan offers a variety of other benefits too, including cellular backup for your base station (in case your internet goes down), video storage for your Ring cameras, warranties and discounts.

How do I reset my Verbal Password?

If you have Professional Monitoring1, and you can’t remember your verbal password, simply follow these steps to reset it:

  1. Open the Ring app.
  2. Tap the
    menu (☰).
  3. Tap
    Settings.
  4. Tap
    Monitoring.
  5. Tap
    Verbal Password.
  6. Enter your new verbal password, then tap
    Save
    .

Don’t forget to share your new verbal password with your emergency contacts and shared users. They will need it to verify their identity and authorize a request or cancellation emergency response.

Can I change the volume of my Base Station? Will this change the volume for the Siren as well?

While the Siren will always play at max volume you can change the volume for the entry/exit delays, as well as Chirps, from the Base Station’s device page.

To change the volume of your Base Station:

  1. Open the Ring app.
  2. Tap the
    menu (☰).
  3. Tap
    Devices.
  4. Scroll to the
    Base Station
    section.
  5. Select the Base Station you would like to adjust.
  6. Tap the
    Audio Settings
    tile.
  7. Adjust the volume settings as needed using the slider.

How do I change the volume on the keypad? Does this also change the volume for the Siren? Can the keypad play chirps?

Like the Base Station, the Siren will always play from the keypad at max volume.

To adjust the device’s entry/exit delay sounds:

  1. Open the Ring app.
  2. Tap the
    Menu (☰).
  3. Tap
    Devices.
  4. Scroll to the
    Keypad
    section.
  5. Tap the name of the Keypad you would like to adjust.
  6. Tap the
    Audio Settings
    tile.
  7. Adjust the volume settings as needed using the slider.

Can I purchase spare part kits in a retail store?

No. Spare part kits are only available on Ring.com.
