Using Two-Step Security Authentication with Your Ring Products

In order to provide our neighbors with robust security options, Ring provides you with the opportunity to activate optional two-factor security authentication across all of your Ring devices and accounts. This article will explain how to use two-factor security authorization.

Activating or Deactivating Two-step Authorization

To activate or deactivate two-step authorization, follow these steps:

Activation

  • Open your Ring app.
  • Tap the three-lined icon on the upper-left corner of your screen to open the side menu.
  • Tap Account.
  • Tap Two-factor Authorization under enhanced security.
  • Tap Turn on Two-factor.
  • Enter your password.
  • Enter the mobile phone number you wish to have the two-factor authorization code sent to.
  • Enter the six-digit code that was texted to your phone.
  • Tap Continue.

Deactivation

  • Open your Ring app.
  • Tap the three-lined icon on the upper-right corner of your screen to open the side menu.
  • Tap Account Settings.
  • Tap Two-factor Authorization under enhance security.
  • Tap Turn off Two-factor.
  • Enter your password.
  • Tap Continue.
