You can add, change, or remove the payment information used to pay for a Ring Protect subscription. When you update your payment information, all Ring Protect subscriptions will be charged to that credit/debit card going forward. You can update payment information from Ring.com or Amazon.com, depending on where you purchased your subscription.
Things to Know
- A Ring account may only have one subscription payment method on-file.
- Adding a new payment method doesn’t subscribe you to a Ring Protect Plan. Need help subscribing?
- If you subscribed to your plan through Amazon.com, you must update your payment information in your Amazon Memberships & Subscriptions.
- Only the Account Owner can update or remove a payment method on Ring.com.
Add a new payment method on Ring.com
- Log in to your account on Ring.com.
- Select Account > Manage Account.
- Next to My Payment Method, select Add New.
- Enter your payment information and select Continue.
Your payment method has been saved. Your Ring Protect subscription(s) will be charged to this card from now on.
Update payment method on Ring.com
- Log in to your account on Ring.com.
- Select Account > Manage Account.
- Next to My Payment Method, select Update.
- Select Replace My Payment Method.
- To delete your payment method, select Remove Payment Method.
- Select Change For All Plans.
- If you leave this page before saving your new credit card information, your payment method will be deleted. A missing payment method may cause your subscription to expire, and all your recorded videos to be permanently deleted.
- Enter your payment information and select Continue.
Your payment method has been updated. Your Ring Protect subscription(s) will be charged to this card from now on.
Update payment method on Amazon.com
For Ring Protect subscriptions purchased through Amazon.com, you can update payment information on Amazon.com. To do this, log in to your Amazon account, then go to Account & Lists > Memberships & Subscriptions.
If you subscribed to a plan through Amazon.com and change your payment information on your Ring account, this will not affect how your plan is charged; you must change your payment information on Amazon.com. Your payment method on Ring.com will only be used for one-time charges, such as alarm and permit fees.

Will my plan be automatically renewed every month/year?
Yes. If there’s a valid payment method on file, your Ring Protect plan will be automatically renewed at the end of the subscription period. If your payment method on file is not valid, we’ll email you to let you know that your payment method needs attention.
What happens if I purchase a Ring Protect Plan during my 30-day trial and then cancel it during that same 30-day trial?
You will continue to enjoy the benefits of the Ring Protect trial (including video storage and retention) until your trial period is over.
What payment methods are accepted on Ring.com?

Can I use a gift card to pay for a Ring Protect subscription?
No. We don’t support the use of gift cards for subscription purchases.
If I purchase a plan during my Ring Protect trial, when do I get charged for it?
You’ll be charged for your Ring Protect plan once your trial period is over.
How do I add a new device to an existing plan?
You can have more than one device to a Ring Protect Plus or Pro Plan.
- Select Unsubscribed Devices to view list of devices that aren’t covered by a plan.
- Select Subscribe.
- Choose a location.
- Choose a plan.
- If you select a Basic plan, you will need to select the device(s) to cover on the next page.
- If you select a Plus or Pro plan, you will see all eligible devices at the location being covered on the next page.
- Choose payment plan (monthly or annual)
- Review order.
- Enter payment information and check out.
