Setting up Chime Pro in the Ring app
With Chime Pro, you can hear Chime Alerts when something happens on your Ring Video Doorbells and Security Cameras at the same location.

- From the Ring app main dashboard, tap Set Up a Device at the bottom of the screen.
- Select Chimes.
- Scan the QR code on your Ring device (or product packaging) and follow instructions in the app.
- Select the Location where you would like to set up your Chime Pro.
- Name your Chime Pro.
- Plug Chime Pro into a socket somewhere between your wifi router and any of your Ring devices that you plan to connect to your Chime Pro.
- Continue to follow the instructions in the app to connect Chime Pro to your wifi using your wifi network and password.
Link another Ring device to Chime Pro in the Ring app
Chime Pro helps extend your wifi to Ring devices at the same location. Here's how to link your Ring devices to your Chime Pro:
- Tap the menu (☰) in the Ring app
- Tap Devices
- Tap the Ring device you want to connect to the Chime Pro.
- Tap the Linked Chimes tile.
- Choose from the settings on the Linked Chimes screen to set your ring and/or motion notifications.
- Use the small arrow pointing right to get to the next screen to customize the sounds.
- Use the small blue arrow on the top left to navigate back to the previous page.
- Choose from the settings on the Linked Chimes screen to set your ring and/or motion notifications.
- Now your Ring device is linked to Chime Pro.
Best practices for Chime Pro
- Plug in your Chime Pro close to your wifi router.
- Once your Chime Pro is set up, move it to an outlet halfway between the router and the Ring device that needs a better wifi connection.
- Check your Chime Pro's signal strength to make sure it's receiving a good wifi signal from your router.
- If your Chime Pro has trouble re-connecting, then it might be due to interference.
- Some things that can cause interference include (but are not limited to):
- Materials such as stucco, brick, or concrete.
- House appliances likes microwaves.
- Please ensure your wifi can provide adequate upload speeds for your Ring devices through the Chime Pro. Chime Pro has a recommended minimum upload speed of 2 Mbps per device. Upload speeds significantly lower can lead to degraded video quality and other performance issues. Contact your internet service provider if upload speeds are insufficient.
- Some things that can cause interference include (but are not limited to):
