If you are using an Android and are encountering some problems with the setup here is a list of useful explanations for error codes.

 

This information can potentially help you narrow down and resolve the issue.

 

Please note that iOS and Windows 10 apps do not have these error codes.

 

Error Code 100

Could not locate the Ring Doorbells Access Point/Wifi Signal

Action:  Restart setup process.

 

Error Code 101

The app connected to the Ring or Chime but was not able to ask for a list of available wifi networks WiFi networks.

Action:  Restart setup process.

 

Error Code 102

Failed to get a complete access point list from Ring Device during setup.

Action:  Pull list down to refresh the network list.  If necessary, verify that you are still connected to the Ring or Chime’s Wi-Fi signal/access point.

 

Error Code 103

The app tried to send the selected Home Network (SSID/network name) and Password to the Ring Device but encountered an error.

Action:  Restart setup process.  On next attempt, verify that you are still connected to Ring or Chime AP prior to connecting to the home network/SSID and Password again.

 

Error Code 200

Network connection error.

Action:  Verify internet is working, restart setup process.

 

Error Code 201

Device is on a network that has no internet when it’s attempting to validate setup on Ring servers.

Action:  Verify internet is working on the smart phone / tablet where the app is and the restart setup process.

 

Error Code 300

Ring Device was not able to connect to internet to provide a valid setup. Setup incomplete.

Action:  Verify internet is working, restart setup process.
