Updating the Ring App on your Mobile Device

If you want to ensure that you have the latest version of the Ring app so that you can get the most out of your Ring devices, use one of the links below to get updates.  

Note: If you want to see what version of the app you have, open the Ring app on your mobile device and tap the three lines on the top left. The small number under Help (bottom left) is the app version.   

Downloading the Ring App on Your Mobile Device

The following link: ring.com/app will automatically begin downloading the correct version for your operating system.

Note: The Ring app is free, but you may need your username and password for your device's store page to download the app.

Ring Desktop App to be Discontinued

On October 15, 2021, the Ring desktop app for Windows and Mac will be discontinued. All users will be permanently logged out of the Ring - Always Home desktop app.

We understand that this decision may impact you, and we are committed to providing a similar experience during this transition using ring.com and the Ring mobile app. Learn more.

The Ring Windows and Mac and desktop apps are no longer receiving updates for new devices and features.

Unsupported devices and features for Windows and Mac include but are not limited to the following:

  • Video Doorbell Wired
  • Ring Video Doorbell Pro 2
  • Ring Video Doorbell 4
  • Video end-to-end encryption
  • Amazon account linking
  • Geofence
