If you can hear audio from your Ring Doorbell on your phone, but no sound is traveling from your phone to the Ring Doorbell, it is possible that the Ring app does not have access to your microphone.
Note: This article only applies if no audio at all is traveling to your Ring device. If the audio is choppy or intermittent, you are likely having Wi-Fi problems. Consult our poor video quality troubleshooting guide for tips on resolving these issues.
Follow the steps below to give the Ring app access to your microphone:
- On your iPhone or iPad, open Settings
- Select Privacy
- Select Microphone
- Ensure that the toggle next to the Ring app is enabled (green) as shown below.
