Improving Ring Performance on your T-Mobile Phone by Changing the Access Point Name

Question: I have a T-Mobile phone and I've found that performance with my Ring device is a bit spotty. Is there a way to improve it?

Answer: Yes. By changing the Access Point Name (APN) on your T-Mobile phone, you may be able to improve its performance with your Ring Device 

The rest of this article will give you instructions on how to change your APN.   

Step Two -Select the "more" section under "connectivity"

Step Six - Once you have reached the access point edit screen, enter the fields

 

Be sure you enter the following fields exactly as shown (these are not all the fields on the page):

  • Name: T-Mobile US LTE
  • APN: fast.t-mobile.com
  • MMSC: http://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc
  • MCC: 310
  • MNC: 260
  • APN Type: default,supl,mms,dun
  • APN Protocol: IPv4/IPv6
  • APN Roaming Protocol: IPv4/IPv6
