What is a Wedge Kit?
The wedge kit is an optional accessory used to angle your Ring Video Doorbell 2 down five degrees. If you installed your Ring Video Doorbell 2 higher than the optimal installation height of four feet off the ground, the wedge kit can improve your view. It can also reduce motion events from passing traffic and ensure you capture approaching visitors if your Ring Video Doorbell 2 is up a staircase, installed on angled siding, or facing a busy street.
If you have another kind of Ring Doorbell, you'll need a wedge or corner mount that is specifically designed for that doorbell. The installation process of the wedge kit and corner mount is essentially the same for all the Ring Doorbells.
