Question: Is the Ring Video Doorbell 2 an upgrade from the Ring Video Doorbell?

Answer: No. The Ring Video Doorbell 2 is not an upgrade or a replacement for the Ring Video Doorbell. It's an entirely new product with updated features including higher resolution video. Each product has its advantages and are best used in different situations.

Question: Can I upgrade or exchange my Ring Video Doorbell to a Ring Video Doorbell 2? I'm willing to pay the difference.

Answer: Yes. The Ring Video Doorbell can be exchanged for a Ring Video Doorbell 2, however, this transaction can only be handled through our community support team if the unit is still under warranty.

Question: I purchased a Ring Video Doorbell less than 30 days ago from Ring.com. Can I exchange it for a Ring Video Doorbell 2?

Answer: Yes. As long as you are within the 30-day return window for Ring products, you can request a refund for your original Ring Video Doorbell and then purchase a Ring Video Doorbell 2 or simply request an exchange from one of our Community Support team members. 

Note: You will be required to pay the difference in price between the Ring Video Doorbell and the Ring Video Doorbell 2.

Question: I purchased a Ring Video Doorbell from a retailer. Can I exchange it for a Ring Video Doorbell 2?

Answer: Yes. If you are within the retailer's return window, you can always return your Ring Video Doorbell to the retailer and then purchase a new Ring Video Doorbell 2. Team members at Ring.com can, however, also facilitate this exchange.

Note: You will be required to pay the difference in price between the Ring Video Doorbell and the Ring Video Doorbell 2.
