Troubleshooting

I'm trying to log back in to the app with the new email address and it's not working.
Be sure you have verified the new email address by clicking the link in the verification email. Until you verify your email address, you will not be able to log in to the Ring app.

I never registered my phone number to my Ring account. Can I still change the email address from the Ring app?
Yes. If you do not have a phone number registered to your Ring account, your verification code will automatically be sent via email.

I no longer have access to the original email attached to my Ring account. Can I still change my address in the Ring app?
Yes. Change the preferences in your two-step verification setting in the control center to "Text Message" to have the verification code texted to you.

To do this:

  • Open your Ring app.
  • Tap the three-lined icon in the upper left hand-side of the app to open the side menu.
  • Tap Control Center.
  • Tap Two-Step Verification.
  • Select Text Message.
  • Tap Switch to Text  Message.
  • Tap Turn on Two-Step Via SMS.
  • Enter your account password.
  • Enter the mobile phone number where you would like to receive the verification text messages.
  • Tap Continue.
  • You will receive a verification code in a text message.
    • Enter the verification code into your Ring app.
  • Tap Verify.
  • Tap Continue.

I don't have access to the old email address and I never registered a phone number to my account. Can I still change my email address in the Ring app?
No. If you find yourself without access to your original email and without an account registered phone number, you will need to contact Customer Support to change your email address.
