Installing your Ring Video Doorbell (1st generation) is a simple process. This article will give you a step-by-step guide to replacing your existing doorbell with a Ring Video Doorbell.

Step One - Remove Your Existing Doorbell ButtonShut off power to your doorbell at the breaker. Then remove your existing doorbell button and disconnect the wires. WARNING: Electrical shock hazard. Disconnect power to installation area at your circuit breaker or fuse box before beginning installation. Always use caution when handling electrical wiring. Installation by a qualified electrician may be required in your area. Refer to your local laws and building codes before performing electrical work; permits plus professional installation may be required by law. |

Step Two - Mount the Bracket

Step Three - Connect the WiresConnect the wires to the screws on the mounting bracket. It doesn't matter which order the wires are connected, just be sure the wires don't touch each other. |

Step Five - Place Your Ring Video Doorbell on Mounting BracketLine up the tabs from the mounting bracket to the slots on the back of your Ring Video Doorbell. Don't be afraid to use a little force. |

Step Six - Tighten the Security ScrewsUse the included security screwdriver to tighten the two security screws to the bottom of the Ring Video Doorbell. |
