Downloading Your Ring Videos

The videos you record through your Ring device can be shared with friends and family through your Ring app to a variety of web and social media applications and downloaded to a computer or mobile device.

The rest of this article will detail the various ways to share and save your Ring Videos.

Note: In order to share and save Ring Videos you must have a Ring Protect Plan subscription.

Downloading and storing my Ring videos on a mobile device or a computer

On iOS devices:

If you are using the timeline feature:

  • Open up your Ring app on your mobile device.
  • Select the Ring device you wish to download a video from.
  • Scroll to the video you wish to share.
  • Tap the Share icon just below the video on the left side.
  • Select the video you wish to download
  • Use the download arrow to download the video.

If you are not using the timeline feature: 

  • Open up your Ring app on your mobile device.
  • Select the Ring device you wish to download a video from.
  • Tap the Event History button underneath the Live View bar.
  • Select the video you wish to download.
    • The video will begin to play.
  • Tap the Download option on the bottom right, next to the trash can icon.

On Android Devices

If you are using the timeline feature:

  • Open up your Ring app on your mobile device.
  • Select the Ring device you wish to download a video from.
  • Scroll to the video you wish to download.
  • Tap the Share icon just below the video on the left side.
  • Select the video you wish to download
  • Use the download arrow to download the video.

If you are not using the timeline feature: 

  • Open up your Ring app on your mobile device.
  • Select the Ring device you wish to download a video from.
  • Tap the Event History button underneath the Live View bar.
  • Select the video you wish to share.
    • The video will begin to play
  • Tap the download option on the bottom right, next to the trash can icon.

Downloading and saving a file on a computer

  • Log into your web account at ring.com/account.
  • Select the video you wish to download.
  • Select Share.
  • Select Get Link.
  • Copy link to clipboard.
  • Paste the link in the address bar of the browser.
  • A new screen will come up. Select the three dots on the bottom right corner of the video.
  • Tap Download to save it to your computer.

Sharing a Ring video with family and friends

  •      Open up your Ring app on your mobile device.
  •      Select the Ring device you wish to share a video from.
  •      Tap the Event History option/button underneath the Live View bar.
  •      Select the video you wish to share.
  •      Tap the Share button in the bottom right corner of the video.
  •      Select your method of sharing the video.

Sharing a Ring video with my Neighborhood

  •      Open up your Ring app on your mobile device.
  •      Select the Ring device you wish to share a video from.
  •      Tap the Event History option/button underneath the Live View bar.
  •      Select the video you wish to share.
  •      Tap the Neighbors button in the bottom right corner of the video.
  •      Share the video.

Note: You must have Ring Neighbors activated on your Ring app in order to share videos with your neighborhood.

Sharing a Ring Video with the Ring Team

If you have a particularly interesting video, you can share it with the Ring team for a chance to be featured!

  • Log into your web account at ring.com/account.
  • Click on the Dashboard tab.
  • Click on the video you wish to share on the left sidebar.
  • Click on the grey Share button to below your video.
  • Click on the e-mail envelope.
  • Send the file to submissions@ring.com.

 

Accessing my Ring videos on the Web

Log into your web account at ring.com/account.

  • Click on the Dashboard tab.
  • Click on the video you wish to share on the left sidebar.
  • Click on the Share button below your video.
  • Click on the Link button to access your video’s Ring Video URL.

Note: "Starring" or Favoriting a video through a Web browser or in-app does not save or it or keep it from being deleted.

Uploading Ring Videos to YouTube

Once downloaded to your mobile device or computer as a file, Ring Videos can be uploaded to YouTube.
