How to Add New Locations to your Neighbors Feed

In the Neighbors and Ring app, you can add up to three US-based locations or neighborhoods to your feed without the need of a Ring device. You can toggle between different neighborhood locations in real time and get safety content like crime, safety, lost pets, and other important alerts directly on your feed.

The multiple locations feature is helpful if you own more than one home or travel a lot and want to check in on loved ones while you’re away. You’ll get important posts from the neighborhoods you care about the most—like your elderly parents’ home or a second home location.

To add a new location in the Ring or Neighbors app:

  1. Tap on the three lines (≡) on the right side of your Dashboard in the Ring or Neighbors app.

  2. Select Neighbors.

  3. Tap on the downward triangle at the top of your Neighbors feed.

  4. Tap on Add a Neighborhood in the drop down menu to add a new neighborhood.

  5. Find your neighborhood using the following options:
        • Use Current Location
          • If you tap on Use Current Location, allow the Neighbors or Ring app to use your location.
          • Confirm your location.
          • Now, give your neighborhood a name or custom description.
          • Tap Finish.
          • You will receive confirmation when you’ve successfully added a new neighborhood.
        • Enter Address Instead
          • Under Find Neighborhood, manually enter your address.
          • Confirm Location.
          • Now, give your neighborhood a name or custom description.
          • You will receive confirmation when you’ve successfully added a new neighborhood.

To remove an additional location:

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Tap on My Neighborhood.
  3. Tap on Remove This Neighborhood.
  4. Tap Remove.

Note: In earlier versions of the app, users could only see posts within a five-mile radius for one location if they had a Ring device attached to the location. If there is no Ring device attached, then users will still get a maximum of three locations they can add.
