Motion verification is a special feature in Ring devices that uses a special algorithm and your own device's video data to verify that a notification should be sent to you by making sure that a detected motion is legitimate. Using it can cut down on the number of false positives and mistaken notifications you get sent by your Ring device. 

How do I activate and deactivate the motion verification system?

To activate and deactivate the motion verification system, follow these instructions: 

Activation

  • Open the Ring app.
  • Tap the device you wish to turn the motion verification system on for.
  • Tap Motion Setting.
  • Tap Motion Verification.
  • Tap the motion verification toggle.
  • Confirm that you wish to turn the system on.

Deactivation

  • Open the Ring app.
  • Tap the device you wish to turn the motion verification system on for.
  • Tap Motion Setting.
