While setting up Ring Video Doorbell Elite, you'll be asked to put the device into "Setup Mode." In order to put the device into Setup Mode, remove the faceplate press and press the black button on the upper right face of the Ring Video Doorbell Elite.
How do I know that my Ring Video Doorbell Elite is in Setup Mode?
You'll know your Doorbell Elite is in setup mode when the light on the front of the Doorbell Elite is spinning.
What is Setup Mode?
When any Ring device is in setup mode, it broadcasts a temporary Wi-Fi network.
During the setup process, the Ring app will connect to this Wi-Fi network to "tell" your Ring product how to connect to your home Wi-Fi network. As soon as your Ring product has been set up in the Ring app, it will stop broadcasting this Wi-Fi network, and stay connected to your home network.
What do I do if my Ring Doorbell Elite doesn't automatically go into Setup Mode?
While setting up Ring Doorbell Elite, you'll need to make sure the device is able to go into "Setup Mode.” In doing so, you may notice the LED lights aren’t responding on the front of the camera. If this happens, please follow the troubleshooting guide below:
