Tips for receiving a verification code

Here are a few tips to help you sign in to your new device, using a previously signed-in device (a device you’ve used to access the Ring app or your Ring account in the past 30 days).

Check your text messages on other devices.

If you are trying to sign in on a new device, and you still have access to a previously signed-in device, your previous device may be receiving your verification codes.

Example: If you have an older phone, tablet or laptop that also receives your text messages, you may be able to see the verification code texts from Ring.

Check if your phone number is correct in your Ring account.

On your previously signed-in device, like a mobile phone or laptop, attempt to sign in following the instructions below.

For a mobile device or tablet:

    1. Open the Ring app on the previously signed-in device.
    2. Tap the top menu () and tap Control Centre.
    3. Tap Account Verification.
    4. Tap Update mobile number under the “Text Message” section.
    5. You’ll be asked to re-enter your password for security purposes.
    6. Enter your new phone number.
    7. On your new device, attempt to sign in again to Ring.

For a laptop, computer or browser window:

    1. Visit Ring.com from your internet browser on the previously signed-in laptop or computer.
    2. Hover over Account in the upper right corner of the browser window.
    3. Click Control Centre from the dropdown menu.
    4. Click Account Verification on the left side panel.
    5. Tap Update mobile number under the “Text Message” section.
    6. You’ll be asked to re-enter your password for security purposes.
    7. Enter your new phone number.
    8. On your new device, attempt to sign in again to Ring.
