Get to know account verification
With account verification, you can choose how you want to receive your six digit verification code whenever you sign in to the Ring app or your account on Ring.com. We require you to enter this code to help protect your Ring account. This extra layer of security is called two-step verification.
How to access account verification in Control Centre.
From the Ring app:

- Open the Ring app.
- Tap menu (☰).
- Tap Control Centre.
- Tap Account Verification.
From a mobile browser:

- Log in to your Ring account on Ring.com.
- Tap menu (☰).
- Tap Control Centre.
- Tap Account Verification.
From a desktop browser:
- Log in to your Ring account on Ring.com.
- Click the Dashboard home icon on the top right.
- Click Account and select Control Centre.
- Click Account Verification.
Choose a verification method
You have the option to choose how you want to receive your verification code, by text message or authenticator app.
Text message
When you choose text message as your verification method, you'll receive a code via text message every time you sign in. Enter that code to complete sign in.

Authenticator app
Authenticator apps are security apps for your phone, tablet and computer that help prove who you are. These apps generate six digit verification codes to help verify you when signing in to Ring.

Verification codes in Control Centre
If you don't have access to your text messages or your device's authenticator app, you can generate a code from Control Centre in account verification.
