What are the Battery and Solar Ring Stick Up Cams (3rd Generation)?
Ring Stick Up Cam Battery and Solar are next-generation security cameras that can be used both indoors and outdoors to bolster the security around your home. Both versions of Ring Stick Up Cam (Battery and Solar) feature 1080p full HD resolution, Night Vision, Two-Way Audio, HD Video Recording, and a wide viewing angle with multiple power options.
What's the difference between the Battery and Solar Camera?
The main difference between the two cameras is how they receive power. Stick Up Cam Battery is powered by the Quick Release Battery Pack. You can also purchase an indoor/outdoor power adapter (sold separately) to connect Stick Up Cam Battery to standard outlets for nonstop power. You can also connect it to a solar panel (sold separately) to keep your camera charged with direct sunlight.
Stick Up Cam Solar comes with a solar panel as well as a Quick Release Battery Pack. The solar panel requires direct sunlight to keep your device charged. The Quick Release Battery Pack ensures your camera has backup power in case there's a lack of sunlight.
Can I mount the Stick Up Cam Battery/Solar to the ceiling or an eave?
Yes. Doing so, however, requires the purchase of a special mount (sold separately ) that can be attached to the device.

Can I use Ring Stick Up Cam Battery/Solar inside?
Yes. Both versions of Ring Stick Up Cam are indoor/outdoor cameras, so they can be mounted indoors. The solar panel for the Solar version, however, may not be able to generate enough power if mounted indoors.
Is Ring Stick Up Cam Battery/Solar weatherproof?
Yes. Both versions of Stick Up Cam are weather-resistant. They were designed to work at temperatures ranging from -5 to 113 degrees Fahrenheit (-20 to 45 degrees Celsius).

Does Stick Up Cam Battery/Solar use data all the time or just when it's activated?
Ring Stick Up Cam Battery/Solar will only use data when it’s activated by an event or when you access Live View via the Ring app. If Ring Stick Up Cam doesn’t detect motion or isn’t activated with the app, it won’t use your data.
Does Stick Up Cam Battery/Solar keep footage for later review?
It can, however, this requires a subscription to Ring Protect Plan, an optional service that allows you to view, save, and share video.

Ring Stick Up Cam can be mounted anywhere indoors or out, it can sit on its own stand or be mounted to a wall or ceiling (with a special universal mount, sold separately), but works best when approximately five to seven feet off the ground.

How do I charge the battery for my Stick Up Cam Battery?
You will need to use the orange USB cable provided in the package. Plug one end into the battery and the other into an available USB port. When charging you will see both a red and green light. When the battery is fully charged, only the green light will be glowing.
